Checking a claim properly costs time and money: reading council reports, chasing records that are not posted anywhere, archiving every cited source and checking each published statement back against those archived bytes at the publication gate. This page says exactly what that costs, who is paying it, and what a sponsor would and would not get.

What it actually costs

Two AI subscriptions: US$200 a month each. They run the three-model research panel and the build and audit tooling behind it.
Everything else: Effectively nil. Hosting costs nothing at this size, and there are no staff and no office.

Neither subscription was bought for YEGFacts. Both are Ildar Abdulin's, paid for personally, and the site runs on whatever share of them his other work leaves free. There is no advertising here, and no political or advocacy money has been taken.

Sponsoring a subscription

A local business can cover one subscription at US$200 a month, or both at US$400 — dedicated to this project rather than shared with anything else. That is the whole offer: no logo slots, no packages, no checkout. Write to [email protected] and we will talk.

Sponsors are named: Publicly, on this page, with what they cover. A sponsor who asks not to be named is not named, and the amount is disclosed without them.
No editorial influence: Not which claims get checked, not how a claim is framed, and not what the finding turns out to be. There is no tier that comes with a say.
No political money: Not from a party, a candidate, a campaign, a PAC, or an advocacy organization with a municipal agenda.
No subjects of a check: Nobody being examined here — including a firm holding a City contract under review. A contribution like that is returned and the fact is recorded on this page.
Not a charitable donation: YEGFacts is operated as a for-profit business, not a registered charity. Sponsorship is not tax-deductible and no tax receipt is issued.

Why this is credible

Independence claims are cheap. What makes this one checkable is that the whole process is in public: the evidence behind every finding, what each of the three models concluded and where they disagreed, the rule that combined those verdicts, and a dated history of every revision.
