Every question we've considered
A question is the unit of work here: one brief, one body of evidence, one panel run, and one finding for each claim under it. Every question the site has considered is on this page, whatever became of it, with the claims that sit under it and the reason behind the decision.
When we read a source, a post and every comment on it, three models each write down every factual claim they can find and a fourth folds those lists into one claim for each thing a public record could settle. Those claims are grouped into questions, and the decision is made about the question rather than about any claim on its own. Claims that contradict each other belong to the same question: whether barriers delay emergency vehicles and whether responders ride down the lanes to get past traffic are one question with two claims, investigated together, each still getting its own finding.
Going ahead, parked and declined are intake answers about whether a question is worth an investigation. They are not rulings on whether anything under them is true. Published and withdrawn say what a reader can see. Nothing is held back: the filters below only narrow a list that is already complete on this page.
The counts are of comments, not of people: one person can write more than one, and a comment counted under a claim may have been arguing against it. That is why the count says said and not agreed.

What the states mean
- Published
- Checked, and the findings are on the site.
- Going ahead
- Worth checking, so a check is coming. That is all it says: nothing is settled yet.
- Parked
- Kept, not dropped. Either the readers disagreed, or the public record cannot answer it yet.
- Declined
- Both readers turned it down for checking. Not a ruling that any claim is false.
- Withdrawn
- Checked and published, then withdrawn as a finding. The page stays, saying why.
- No finding yet
- A claim under a question the site has already answered, which has not itself been through the panel. The question was answered; this claim was not checked.
Two readers rule on every question, one call each, written GO, PARK or NO. Those are the words some of the reasons in the register use. Going ahead takes both readers at GO, or one GO and one PARK. Declined takes two NOs. Everything else parks, a GO set against a NO included, because throwing out a real question costs the reader more than holding one too long. So a question marked going ahead can be one the two readers did not agree on, and where they split the reason says so.
Some rows read “Withheld claim”. Those are claims about an identifiable person, which this site does not repeat while it has no right of reply to offer them. The row keeps its place under the question it was checked under, that question keeps its answer and its reason, and the claim's own page says more.
